In a draft full of high ceiling players with some risk involved in their selections (guys like Frost, Ratcliffe and Strome come to mind) Sushko seemed like a safer, lower ceiling selection. Kind of like Laughton or Fazleev. Being in the OHL the Flyers scouts would have had eyes on him often, so they surely saw things about him that they like more than his overall point production.
Hey Bill thanks for everything. If you could pick one dark horse prospect that doesn't get the attention but you think could be a future Flyer who would you pick right now? Maybe one Defense and one Forward?
I would go with Allison for the forwards and Friedman for the defense.

Agree with you on Friedman, for forwards, I'd go with Vorobyev. Big guy, good skater and plays a responsible 200 foot game. Could turn out to be a good 3/4 C who can kill penalties

This means absolutely nothing, but oddly enough, Sushko in NHL17 for whatever reason is always a top 5 pick in the draft and sometimes even #2 ahead of Nico. He's an elite RW in the game!

Fwiw, "Maxsim Sushko" is a pretty cool name. Like a Bond villain or an opponent from the Mike Tyson Punchout game.
Sushko seems to be in the shadow of the much bigger name/body who the Flyers drafted one spot ahead of him, but it wouldn't be surprising if Sushko ended up being the better player.

To be fair, most players are in his shadow.
